Throughout 2024, ELLE France has been the gift that keeps on giving. Week after week, issue after issue, and cover after cover – the magazine’s standards do not slip. We repeat: do not slip. Over recent weeks, covers featuring Toni Garrn, Deva Cassell, Luna Bijl, Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, Emily Ratajkowski, Penélope Cruz, and Mathilde Brandi. Editor Véronique Philipponnat welcomes Eva Herzigova onto the cover of ELLE France for an issue dated December 12, 2024. The ever-gorgeous Czech beauty is all smiles in the effortless cover photograph, as she flashes a smile down the lens of the photographic duo Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello. The cover image is complete with styling from Anne-Marie Brouillet, who opted to dress Herzigova in a bodysuit from Chantelle and a coat from Chemena Kamali’s debut Fall 2024 Chloé collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Eva Herzigova is well into that phase of a supermodel’s career where most of your modern shoots look the same. However, I can’t help but love the sight of Eva on any cover, knowing that she has more talent and experience in her big toe than many of today’s most-hyped names,” voiced tigerrouge.

Sharing the same level of enthusiasm was vogue28. “As per usual, an offering from ELLE France is more superior than what most editions of Vogue have delivered us this month. Always here for Eva Herzigova. She’s one of those models who I will just never mind the sight of, and I love this. Eva is always so effortless, and that smile,” he enthused.

“Beautiful photographs of a beautiful model,” applauded MModa.

Paris is burning, with the Spring 2025 season of Paris Fashion Week in full swing. Running from September 23 until October 1, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s jam-packed schedule grants us a total of 66 physical runway shows and 40 presentations.

Report: Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025

Maria Grazia Chiuri was tasked with opening up Paris Fashion Week, with the first female creative director of Christian Dior looking to the women of the Amazon throughout history (in particular Diana, goddess of the hunt) for inspo. MGC enlisted Artist and archer Sagg Napoli to kick off the show, who shot arrows along the catwalk as models paraded athletic yet feminine silhouettes. It was soon time to head to the Saint Laurent HQ on Rue de Bellechasse, to check out Anthony Vaccarello’s tribute to Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent himself, with the Belgian designer inspired by the late designer’s wardrobe. Models (including Bella Hadid) stormed the oval-shaped runway decked out in an array of oversized suits, trench coats, and bomber jackets.

Day three of Paris Fashion Week started off strong, with Nicolas Di Felice of Courrèges taking up the morning slot. Guests were spaced around a set with a gigantic ocean drum situated in the middle. Models emerged from backstage in Di Felice’s sleek and monochromatic lineup. Mid-day on September 25 and it was time for the industry to bare witness to the first Dries Van Noten show with out the revered Belgian designer at the helm. The Spring 2025 collection was crafted by the in-house design team in Antwerp, offering up boldly layered colors, fabrics, prints, and embroidery. Brightly-mixed patterns and the house’s signature chainmail were on full display at Julien Dossena’s Rabanne showcase. As night fell over the city of Paris on day three, Olivier Rousteing relied upon his essentials and signature pieces, from blazers with dramatic pointy shoulders to structured dresses with cinched waists at Balmain.

The fashion pack gathered to see Chemena Kamali’s highly-anticipated sophomore outing as Chloé creative director, who doubled down on the boho aesthetic and sought inspiration in the true essence of summer. Dramatic bangs and wide-shouldered, cinched waist dresses and blazers graced the runway at Mugler (designed by Casey Cadwallader), as the brand commemorates its 50th anniversary this year. Rick Owens returned to the Palais de Tokyo in Paris for a presentation of epic and otherworldly proportions while Daniel Roseberry once again brought his creative eye and innate flair for couture-level detailing to Schiaparelli.

The best part? There’s so much to look forward to, as we head into the second portion of Paris Fashion Week. Scroll further for theFashionSpot’s hits and misses (so far) from Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025:

The Equal Number of Hits & Misses From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025

HIT | Dries Van Noten

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Dries is in good hands. I liked the collection a lot, beautiful ephemeral vibes.” [Olaffo]

“The studio team should be proud. Love the colors, prints, textures and styling. They should just promote someone internally, who knows the language of Dries.” [j02215]

“Leave it to Dries Van Noten to hire a team that can design a strong collection without him. As someone who despises interim collections, I wouldn’t be mad if they just continued like this for the next few years.” [LadyJunon]

MISS | Rabanne

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Louis Vuitton by Nicholas Ghesquière but with chainmail embroideries and dresses.” [FashionPower]

“A total copy and paste from Nicolas Ghesquière. It could have been executed in a better way.” [badgalcrush]

“Definitely not his best. Some good ideas and I love the pastels, but the silhouettes are very strange. The shapes look dowdy and blobby.” [GoldenPetals]

HIT | Saint Laurent

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Wow, at last Anthony Vaccarello expands his vocabulary. I did not believe he could do it. I think it’s the best collection of his tenure.” [yslforever]

“I can always count on AV to put on a good show. Obsessed with the jacquard in the middle section.” [IsabelMarantBoy]

“I think it’s a great direction. It makes good use of the YSL codes and there’s a sense of camp fun to it that’s basically non-existent in fashion anymore.” [GoldenPetals]

See all the looks from the Saint Laurent Spring 2025 collection.

MISS | Courrèges

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Fashion straight from the morgue. Sad, lifeless, flat, colorless, and cold.” [IloveDiorHomme]

“I’m not feeling it. At this point of Nicolas Di Felice’s tenure, I feel like I’ve seen this collection one hundred times.” [helmutnotdead]

“Lazy. (Di Felice should push him elf beyond self-indulgence of his fandom for his fashion heroes ) and not enough development in fabrics colors and brand product offerings and the image is stale already. Being obsessed with the late 90s/early 00s minimalist gods does not equal a strong point of view.” [PDSFD]

MISS | Christian Dior

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“There was nothing new here, even by Maria Grazia Chiuri’s standards. It’s basically everything that Maria has already shown previously. Confused as to why they felt the need to put on a show with this collection? Also, that archery component was the most awkward and bizarre thing ever. So random and what does it have to do with the history of Christian Dior?” [Frederic01]

“MGC is probably the most boring and unimaginative designer ever. Dear lord her shows make me feel sleepy.” [Creative]

“It’s bizarre and boring.” [reese06]

HIT | Mugler

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“This is a good collection from Casey Cadwallader! Surprising to actually see some clothes for a summer season at Mugler. For what it’s worth, the spirit of Mugler is there.” [Lola701]

“This might be the most Mugler collection I’ve ever seen since they reanimated the label. The suit jackets are quite stunning.” [GoldenPetals]

“Those first looks are very strong. Those jackets with the pockets are really sharp as a knife.” [Norden]

HIT | Balmain

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“I can’t bring myself to dislike any of Olivier Rousteing’s work. There is something very honest and genuine in his creations. He is the embodiment of his work and I can see that it’s a very personal process for him. He is Balmain and it’s nice to see a brand with such longevity similar to Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.” [tourbillions]

“I think it’s one of his best collections in a while. The hourglass silhouette on the skirts is just gorgeous. Nobody else is producing stuff like this to be sold as RTW.” [Nimsay]

“I love how relaxed the whole thing felt, mostly through the presence of more flou and softer tones.” [Lola701]

MISS | Ganni

“I can’t with this brand.” [Royal-Galliano]

“Can we please please please stop with the mesh polyester organza ALREADY!” [miumeow]

“The first look was fire, but the rest of the collection should be burnt.” [LadyJunon]

HIT | Chloé

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“I love it! This is Chloé at its inner sanctum!” [disco54]

“One of the best interpretations of Chloé I’ve seen in YEARS. Chemena was made for this position and it shows, all the girlies will go bananas for those baby doll and empire dresses (and don’t get me started on those pants).” [GERGIN]

“It’s so effective and desirable! Love love love.” [Ihhbl]

MISS | Rick Owens

IMAGE | VOGUE.COM

“I’m so tired of this.” [helmutnotdead]

“Rick’s out of ideas. I can’t believe the kiss heels are still on the runway.” [CincyCritic]

“It’s just a parade of variants of the same ideas Rick Owens has been making in the last years: the platform boots, the monster shoulders, and the ‘turd’ volumes. This feels like rejected versions of them all, condensed into one collection. The show was also in the same place, with the same fog machines, the same contact lenses worn by models, the same people throwing flower petals… the same everything.” [jeanclaude]

HIT | Issey Miyake

“This man is truly gifted. 10/10” [GivenchyAddict]

“Best of the season so far!” [Kanzai]

“Well executed volumes and playful silhouettes, that’s how you make fashion fun.” [philophile]

MISS | Loewe

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“This was boring for being in your tenth year at Loewe.” [youthinasia]

“I thought the collection would never end. So boring and it seems JW Anderson wasn’t able to explore good concepts. I hated those volumes and prints. There was some good leather work and tailoring but meh…” [thiago]

“Very weak. I’m disappointed.” [ghostwriter10549]

HIT | Schiaparelli

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | VOGUE.COM

“This looks pretty fabulous and desirable.” [TianCouture]

“I love it. Feels like his most ready-to-wear outing yet for the ready-to-wear line, which is good. Strong casting, too.” [Mr-Dale]

“I really love the oversized Couture Hoodies. I love the contre-emploi of things here. Everything seems to be an elevated version of something very casual. There’s nothing new but it feels somehow fresh and now. The fabrication is really exceptional. A lot can be said about Schiaparelli by Roseberry but the standards are at an all time high! The attention to details down to the buttons is deserving of an applause. It screams quality.” [Lola701]

See all the looks from the Schiaparelli Spring 2025 collection.

MISS | Acne Studios

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Temu Loewe.” [youthinasia]

“I will say this every time they present a collection: what happened to this brand is embarrassing. Years ago, this was a cool attainable brand, similar to A.P.C and Ami but somehow things went left and never came back to what they were. This mess looks no different.” [Yasouss]

“Complicated for the sake of being complicated.” [Cocteau Stone]

Right now, we remain the euphoria and bliss of Paris Fashion Week. Already, we’ve bared witness to Maria Grazia Chiuri infuse sport and fashion (once again) at Christian Dior, sat back, and watched Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent take a deep dive into the wardrobe of Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent himself and reimagine the late designer’s wardrobe for the modern woman. Fashion met beauty at Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain presentation and Chemena Kamali’s sophomore outing as Chloé creative director saw the German designer double down on the boho aesthetic.

Make no mistake this season of Paris Fashion is a one to watch. Scroll further for part one of theFashionSpot’s highlights from Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025:

Day four of Paris Fashion Week, and this morning’s slot was taken up by Chloé. You must have been living under a rock not to know Chemena Kamali is the creative force behind the French fashion house (founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion). After Kamali’s triumphant debut collection for Fall 2024, this Spring 2025 season marks the German designer’s second mainline Chloé outing. Kamali continues to double down on the boho aesthetic this season, presenting a lineup inspired by the true essence of summer, highlighted by delicate lace detailing, flowing dresses, and a soft pastel color palette. Seashell jewelry and raffia bags finished off an array of looks, cementing the fact next summer will be more bohemian than ever.

Chloé Spring 2025 Collection Review

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I love it! This is Chloé at its inner sanctum!” [disco54]

“I loved it, with the exception of those dark floral looks towards the end. The Chloé energy has been so fun and youthful recently, and Chemena embodies her clothes.” [br3ncon1]

“Bohemian cliches or not, this is still one of the best interpretations of Chloé I’ve seen in YEARS. Chemena was made for this position and it shows, all the girlies will go bananas for those baby doll and empire dresses (and don’t get me started on those pants).” [GERGIN]

“It’s so effective and desirable! Love love love.” [Ihhbl]

“So bored of this retro approach to fashion. It’s 2024 for god’s sake… can’t believe Kamali so applauded. But then again, Chloé was always just a step up from a high-street brand mediocrity.” [90sFan]

“Honestly i think this is a terrible slip of image. It could have been edited better, the amount of meringue is overwhelming and unnecessary.” [Tchi]

“Too naive, too cutesy, and too bubblegum. I would have preferred a more grown up slightly twisted approach to this collection.” [GivenchyAddict]

It has become somewhat of a tradition for us here at theFashionSpot to throw it back a whole decade, on the eve of each fashion week. You’ve encountered our New York, London and Milan installments and now it’s time to head back to the Spring 2015 season of Paris Fashion Week.

Sarah Burton was the creative force behind Alexander McQueen in the September of 2014, offering up a collection based on her very own treasured collection of antique kimonos and intricate fabric swatches. Cropped jackets and asymmetrical mini skirts had a rock ‘n’ roll sensibility at Anthony Vaccarello’s showcase and a sporty vibe oozed from Alexander Wang’s monochromatic Balenciaga collection. Riccardo Tisci sent out a gang of his model muses decked out into corsets, leather pants and thigh-high boots at Givenchy. Simon Porte Jacquemus transformed his runway into a beach scene, complete with parasols, deck chairs and the sound of waves crashing for his Spring 2015 nautical-inspired collection. Hedi Slimane continued to display his love for all-things glam rock at Saint Laurent while the late Karl Lagerfeld staged a protest at the Chanel show, complete with models (like Cara Delevingne and Gisele Bundchen) shouting through megaphones.

Magazines across the globe are pulling out all the stops in an attempt to impress for September 2024. You’ve got British Harper’s Bazaar enlisting the A-list actress that is Kate Winslet as cover star and Vogue Italia currently commemorating 60 years of print with six Steven Meisel-shot covers. At Vogue Brazil, Paula Merlo is making sure we don’t sleep on the magazine’s offering this month, bestowing upon us a cover with none other than Gisele Bündchen. Making a return to the Brazilian fashion title’s front cover just a little over a year after her last, Gisele’s latest marks her 25th Vogue Brazil cover appearance. Once again photographed by Lufré, the Brazilian bombshell poses within the manicured grounds of a luxurious estate. Gisele gazes down Lufre’s artistic lens in the cover photograph, and is styled by Rita Lazzarotti in a look from Chemena Kamali’s debut Chloé collection for Fall 2024.

“Hum… a no from me!” DK92 echoed in complete agreement.

Also not exactly jumping for joy at the sight of the cover was jeje10, commenting: “Bad angle!”

“Such odd cropping on covers these days. Cutting off feet, hands, and here cutting off elbows. Why can’t we get a full-length shot or at least a sensibly cropped photo?” quizzed Lucien112.

Not everyone, however, was left so unsatisfied. “BEAUTIFUL!” Bertrando3 heralded. “Gisele looks awesome here. So different and versatile. The extra long hair is working for me. I dig this!”

“Love the cover very much. It makes me dream,” enthused forum member MModa.

“Gisele? Sold, 100% unequivocally sold. All just feels right in the world whenever she’s around, and I love this. The cover feels like a breath of fresh air, the colors are gorgeous and I am all for seeing Gisele Bündchen in slightly different light,” favored vogue28.

A good ol’ surprise is everything, and Vogue France bestows upon us the biggest surprise of all this month by enlisting Steven Meisel as cover shoot photographer. That’s right, the legendary lensman who would regularly only photograph the covers of British and Italian Vogue, points his masterful lens toward Vivienne Rohner for Vogue France’s September 2024 cover shoot. The dreamy shoot draws inspiration from Emmanuelle, the 1974 cult French erotic film directed by Just Jaeckin. In the undeniably beautiful, alluring and ethereal cover image, Rohner is styled by Marie-Amelie Sauvé in a creation from Chemena Kamali’s Fall 2024 Chloé collection.

Chemena Kamali has been installed as Chloé creative director almost a whole twelve months. In such a short space of time, the German designer has overhauled the French fashion house (founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion) with an effortless ease. Back in March, Kamali’s highly anticipated debut collection for Chloé was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week – to much fanfare across theFashionSpot forums and the industry at large. The accompanying campaign for said collection has dropped, with Kamali once again depending upon photographer David Sims to further portray her vision of the Chloé woman. Models Rianne van Rompaey, Yar Aguer, Rosalieke Fuchs and Diane Chiu assemble within Sims’ photographic studio, with the girls shot both in black and white and full color for a series of images “to capture a cinematic intimacy.”

“Didn’t expect to see Kaia at Chloé, but I confess it was a good surprise,” said DK92 upon checking out the campaign.

“I love Kaia, and this images are surprisingly good. I like the concept of what I see,” guimon chimed in.

“Absolutely love this, just feels like quintessential Chloé. I constantly find myself impressed by Chemena Kamali’s Chloé, and have immense respect for how she has been able to breath new life into the brand with an effortless ease. The casting here is wonderful,” enthused vogue28.

Thiago exclaimed: “Rianne looks gorgeous!”

“They only needed Rianne. Her shots are beautiful and they work,” approved ghostwriter10549.

Not everyone, however, was so convinced. “I want location. I want to dream. This is not bad but considering the people involved in this, it could be much better,” said GivenchyAddict.

“Suvi [Koponen] and Jessica [Miller] over all those girls! Chloé needs stronger, seasoned, models to balance the girly feeling of the clothes,” shared yslforever.
