Day four of Paris Fashion Week, and this morning’s slot was taken up by Chloé. You must have been living under a rock not to know Chemena Kamali is the creative force behind the French fashion house (founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion). After Kamali’s triumphant debut collection for Fall 2024, this Spring 2025 season marks the German designer’s second mainline Chloé outing. Kamali continues to double down on the boho aesthetic this season, presenting a lineup inspired by the true essence of summer, highlighted by delicate lace detailing, flowing dresses, and a soft pastel color palette. Seashell jewelry and raffia bags finished off an array of looks, cementing the fact next summer will be more bohemian than ever.

Chloé Spring 2025 Collection Review

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I love it! This is Chloé at its inner sanctum!” [disco54]

“I loved it, with the exception of those dark floral looks towards the end. The Chloé energy has been so fun and youthful recently, and Chemena embodies her clothes.” [br3ncon1]

“Bohemian cliches or not, this is still one of the best interpretations of Chloé I’ve seen in YEARS. Chemena was made for this position and it shows, all the girlies will go bananas for those baby doll and empire dresses (and don’t get me started on those pants).” [GERGIN]

“It’s so effective and desirable! Love love love.” [Ihhbl]

“So bored of this retro approach to fashion. It’s 2024 for god’s sake… can’t believe Kamali so applauded. But then again, Chloé was always just a step up from a high-street brand mediocrity.” [90sFan]

“Honestly i think this is a terrible slip of image. It could have been edited better, the amount of meringue is overwhelming and unnecessary.” [Tchi]

“Too naive, too cutesy, and too bubblegum. I would have preferred a more grown up slightly twisted approach to this collection.” [GivenchyAddict]

Chemena Kamali has been installed as Chloé creative director almost a whole twelve months. In such a short space of time, the German designer has overhauled the French fashion house (founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion) with an effortless ease. Back in March, Kamali’s highly anticipated debut collection for Chloé was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week – to much fanfare across theFashionSpot forums and the industry at large. The accompanying campaign for said collection has dropped, with Kamali once again depending upon photographer David Sims to further portray her vision of the Chloé woman. Models Rianne van Rompaey, Yar Aguer, Rosalieke Fuchs and Diane Chiu assemble within Sims’ photographic studio, with the girls shot both in black and white and full color for a series of images “to capture a cinematic intimacy.”

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Didn’t expect to see Kaia at Chloé, but I confess it was a good surprise,” said DK92 upon checking out the campaign.

“I love Kaia, and this images are surprisingly good. I like the concept of what I see,” guimon chimed in.

“Absolutely love this, just feels like quintessential Chloé. I constantly find myself impressed by Chemena Kamali’s Chloé, and have immense respect for how she has been able to breath new life into the brand with an effortless ease. The casting here is wonderful,” enthused vogue28.

Thiago exclaimed: “Rianne looks gorgeous!”

“They only needed Rianne. Her shots are beautiful and they work,” approved ghostwriter10549.

Not everyone, however, was so convinced. “I want location. I want to dream. This is not bad but considering the people involved in this, it could be much better,” said GivenchyAddict.

“Suvi [Koponen] and Jessica [Miller] over all those girls! Chloé needs stronger, seasoned, models to balance the girly feeling of the clothes,” shared yslforever.

Chemena Kamali continues to overhaul Chloé, in an attempt to return the French fashion house to its former glory. Following on from the immense success of Kamali’s debut Fall 2024 outing as creative director during Paris Fashion Week, we’ve got a clear understanding of the direction Kamali is taking. The unveiling of a Pre-Fall 2024 collection and accompanying advertising campaign have since followed, and the Chloé Resort 2025 collection just dropped. Again, it’s an overload of 70s eccentricity and big on boho-chic. Inspired by the archives, Kamali is still paying homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld who served as Chloé creative director from 1963 to 1983 and 1992 to 1997 for a covetable collection of blouses, billowing dresses, leather shorts, gold lamé tunics, and checkered blazers.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Who did the styling ? That’s not good at all and too much bags. They are not even good bags.” [GivenchyAddict]

“Wow, this is kind of brutal. The images against black look like a Kohls campaign from 2008. Nobody is checking for baby doll dresses in 2024. All that is missing is a boot leg Miu Miu sparrow print and an owl necklace.” [TianCouture]

“It feels very disjointed and quite Junior even if her vision for Chloe is right. The styling is terrible…” [Lola701]

“Presentation makes it look like Forever 21.” [Urban Stylin]

“This look is already getting tired.” [Kennnnn]

“A never-ending loop of ruffles, flou, fringes; and the rest of boho crap. Chloé is now Cliché.” [jeanclaude]

“Those sneakers, the yellow leather shorts and the baby doll dresses I can’t stand. They tried for a care-free “just threw this on” kind of styling but it doesn’t work. Ends up being all over the place. The bags aren’t the greatest, but I’ve also seen worse.” [Cocteau Stone]

“Hopefully Chemena Kamali has more up her sleeves for the upcoming shows. Unless it will get one-note quick.” [tourbillions]

Chemena Kamali is proving to be a match made in absolute fashion heaven for Chloé. Since taking up the mantle as the creative director of the French fashion house in late 2023, the German designer has been on a mission to return Chloé back to its former glory – and is succeeding with an effortless ease. Kamali’s debut collection for the Fall 2024 season, which was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, received a resounding standing ovation across theFashionSpot forums. Kamali’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection (unveiled after PFW but designed prior to Fall 2024) received the same level of praise. The accompanying campaign for Kamali’s very first collection is here, lensed by Sam Rock. Jessica Miller, Liya Kebede, Suvi Koponen, Shuqi Lan, Kristine Lindseth, Saphira Krumhaar, and Ornella Umutoni come together for occasion, oozing an effortless and care-free spirit around various different Paris locations.

“That Suvi Koponen shot is everything…” applauded forum member yslforever.

Also equally as impressed was Cocteau Stone: “Love the cold lightness, even if it is a bit of a Parisian cliché it is nice to see someone execute it so well.”

“My admiration for Chemena Kamali only continues to grow,” chimed in vogue28. “Absolutely wonderful to see someone restore a fashion house to its former glory, and with an effortless ease. The casting is fabulous, massively here for the sight of Jessica Miller and Liya Kebede again, and I’m massively here for Paris as the backdrop.”

“These are going to look really good in print. I hope they run a few of these in W Magazine and Interview. I would love to see them in the larger size,” GivenchyHomme voiced.

The Pre-Fall 2024 season is in full swing, and subsequent to us checking out the offerings from Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, up next is Chloé.

We aren’t sure where you’ve been hiding if you weren’t already aware that Chemena Kamali is now the creative force behind the French fashion label, founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion. Back in September, the Fall 2024 season of Paris Fashion Week bestowed upon us our first real slice of Kamali’s vision for Chloé. Members of theFashionSpot forums ultimately raved over the collection to no end and it’s a repeat performance for Pre-Fall 2024. The lineup is in fact the first the German designer (formerly from Saint Laurent) designed for Chloé. Via the lens of photographer Drew Vickers, a handful of Kamali muses (including Jessica Miller and Kristine Lindseth) take Paris for the recently-released lookbook, presenting looks echoing the ethos of the mainline Fall 2024 season – free-spirited, effortless and highly-feminine.

Day three of Paris Fashion Week and Chemena Kamali just made her highly-anticipated debut as creative director of Chloé and theFashionSpot’s verdict is in. Ever since Kamali was announced as Gabriela Hearst’s replacement at the famed French fashion house back in October 2023, the suspense and anticipation has been mounting. A teaser campaign was revealed earlier this month featuring a handful of Chloé muses both past and present, and Kamali’s vision was finally unveiled to its full momentum during today’s show. Strongly influenced by the Karl Lagerfeld era during the 70s, Kamali presented an array of soft, feminine and romantic silhouettes. From an instantly-covetable logo belt to desirable thigh-high boots – Chemena revived Chloé with an effortless ease.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Looooove it! It has the Chloé energy from the early 2000! Very well made, the three last dresses are sooo beautiful. Easy, uncomplicated, unpretentious, cool, and the colors are nice – we needed that! Bravo Chemena! Chloé is BACK!” [Creative]

“Amazing debut ! Chloé is back. Last time it was interesting was when Natasha took the helm. Minus the bags, I enjoyed everything! Well Done!” [GivenchyAddict]

“Wonderful debut! It was a really emotional moment because it was a much-needed comeback of everything Chloé actually stands for. Especially the flou, something Hearst didn’t understand well, was strong and convincing. Some of the pieces were a bit questionable but as a whole, this collection is fantastic and will sell like crazy! Thank God we’ve all survived Hearst’s dreadful tenure, because this one is going to be good. Bravo Chemena!” [perhydrol]

“So gentle and romantic. After Hearst’s overly serious tenure, I’m so grateful for the return of flou and soft colors. Very strong debut and a potential redemption arc for Chloé!” [LadyJunon]

“I am sipping a flute of champagne right now because I am so happy! Great to have you back Chloé – it’s been a while. I missed you. So so many great pieces I want to wear right now. I loved the attitude, the style, everything.” [VERNIQUE]

“Such an awesome debut. Go Girl! Give us the spirit of Chloé back!” [FashionFanatico]

“I’m sat here just as impressed as everyone else – Chemena Kamali delivered and I’m so proud. This whole collection just feels like it’s right on the money to propel Chloé back where it belongs, and everything has been executed wonderfully (including the guest sat front row like Sienna Miller, Jerry Hall and Pat Cleveland). Soft, feminine, romantic, wearable… the list goes on!” [vogue28]

In the never-ending saga of musical chairs within the world of fashion, Chemena Kamali has been named Chloé’s new creative director, following the exit of Gabriela Hearst. Hearst took her last bow as the brand’s creative director during Paris Fashion Week, following a three-year tenure at the helm of the French fashion house which was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion.
Seven decades later, Kamali now ranks alongside fashion legends such as Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo and Clare Waight Keller who’ve all completed a stint at Chloé throughout their storied careers.
Born in Germany, Kamali graduated Central Saint Martin’s University of the Arts in 2007 and holds two years worth of Chloé experience, having worked under the direction of both Phoebe Philo and Claire Waight Keller. Prior to her return and new role as creative director of the house, Kamali was previously at Saint Laurent under Anthony Vaccarello.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for members of our forums to react to the news. “Hope she brings Chloé into an exciting era, and not back to Little Miss Boring & Beige. Curious to see her first show,” said Thefrenchy.
“Thank God they replaced Gabriela Hearst with someone competent. I hope Kamali is going to produce beautiful, lush clothing,” voiced perhydrol.
“We did see this coming and I’m here for it. I love the fact that she already worked for Chloé under Phoebe and CWK,” style_expert noted.
“I guess anything at this point is a step up from whatever Gabriela was putting out,” stated dancv.
