Making an appearance on the cover of Interview for Issue #558 Winter 2024/25 is Lily-Rose Depp. The French-American actress teams up with photographer Richard Kern for the occasion, complete with Mel Ottenberg himself reporting for styling duties. The Chanel brand ambassador and star of Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” gazes down Kern’s lens, trimming the bushes of a Los Angeles boulevard in the unconventional cover image, sporting a knitted top from Loro Piana.

Interview Magazine is celebrating its monumental 55th anniversary, with the unveiling of its Fall 2024 issue. The first of the six covers to be released saw Jennifer Lopez become a bronzed goddess (not exactly a hard task for the multifaceted talent). The second cover went to 23-year-old NBA star Anthony Edwards. North West makes a surprise appearance on the third cover of Interview Magazine for Fall 2024. The 11-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West poses for photographer Theo Liu. In the joyous cover image, North is all smiles and sports a camouflage look from Los Angeles-based label 424.

Mel Ottenberg welcomes Kylie as Interview’s latest cover star for Winter 2023, who poses via the lens of photographer Theo Liu for the occasion. In the intriguing and creative(?) cover image styled by Ottenberg himself, Kylie rocks a head-to-toe look from Celine by Hedi Slimane.

Per usual, members of theFashionSpot forums had a lot to say about Kylie’s latest. “Andy [Warhol], I can only mourn for you…” voiced DK92, suggesting the cover wasn’t worthy of praise.

Since Interview relaunched back in 2018, the magazine hasn’t exactly been at the forefront of cutting-edge fashion photography. So it usually goes unnoticed by our forum members. The last time the title captured our attention was over a year ago with Naomi Campbell (and for all the wrong reasons). Fast-forward to Interview‘s Summer 2022 edition starring Anne Hathaway who pops up on the American publication 11 years after her last appearance. Photographed by Collier Schorr and styled by Dara Allen, the Oscar-winning actress poses before a pink backdrop working a harness top and bike shorts from Christian Dior’s Fall 2022 collection.

Needless to say, members of our forums aren’t impressed. “WTF is that? Is Anne Hathaway cosplaying Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?” asked avonlea002.

Condé Nast streamlined operations. Editions of Vogue now share content as a cost-cutting exercise resulting in some being left unable to produce localized content. Nevertheless, we encountered back-to-back British Vogue covers photographed by forum favorite Steven Meisel. Anna Wintour also appears to be shaking things up over at American Vogue with 14 of the magazine’s 20 cover stars never gracing the fashion bible before. Not to mention Emmanuelle Alt departing Vogue Paris on a high note with the unveiling of the title’s landmark 100th anniversary issue.

Meanwhile Samira Nasr continues to find her footing at American Harper’s Bazaar. Laura Brown’s InStyle remains one of the most buzzworthy publications. Michelle Lee helped Allure celebrate 30 years in print. At i-D, Alastair McKimm’s mission to reinstate the magazine as one of the most cutting-edge publications appears to be working.

We’re all for magazines giving celebrities new looks and Interview gave Selena Gomez a makeover to mark her appearance on its Spring 2020 edition. Unlike Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and more recently WSJ. Magazine, Selena doesn’t look like herself on Interview‘s latest. In the stylized cover shot, the singer (who is about to bless us with a beauty line) wears a mix of Balenciaga, Vetements and Wolford selected by Mel Ottenberg before the lens of Eli Russell Linnetz.

Members of our forums could barely believe their eyes. “That’s Selena?” questioned dodencebt the moment the cover struck.

“Why did they make her look like Cardi B?” asked tipi1355.

Different doesn’t always mean better. “How did she (or, more importantly, her management) agree to this? Mind-blowing,” added [Piece Of Me].

MON felt the same way: “This Selena era has been terrible. The fact that she agreed to this…choices.”

“She looks like an influencer/YouTuber just starting out, not knowing her angles. I don’t think Selena’s team is managing these shoots. It’s more in line with what the magazine wants. The competition is also fierce so she can’t play that hardball anymore,” commented Benn98.

“Don’t like this at all! It’s weird to look at. This new era of Selena is confusing, I hope she really has found inner peace, but to me it looks more like she wants to convince herself of that rather than she really feels that,” declared a less-than-impressed apple.
