After all, covers (both good and bad) over the past few months have granted us Linda Evangelista, Monica Bellucci, and Lana Del Rey as cover stars. Last month, Ragazzi closed out 2024 with models like Anok Yai, Alex Consani and Amelia Gray having a blast before the lens of Rafael Pavarotti. To kick-start 2025, Damiano David is ushered in as a Vogue Italia cover star for January. The Italian singer and songwriter is teamed up with photographer Steven Klein for the occasion, complete with Matthew Ellenberger on styling duties. In the cover photograph (shot on location at Chateau Marmont), David gazes down Klein’s lens donning a look from the Dsquared2 Menswear Spring 2025 collection.

Vogue Italia has been pretty hit and miss throughout 2024. After all, covers starring the likes of Taylor Russell, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Karen Elson, and Monica Bellucci have flopped HARD. On the opposite end of the scale, the magazine’s Steven Meisel-shot 60th anniversary covers, Lana Del Rey, and Hunter Schafer offerings have impressed us to no end. To close out 2024, Francesca Ragazzi insisted the magazine’s December cover shoot be shot at the 60th anniversary party, held during Milan Fashion Week in September. Ragazzi called upon photographer Rafael Pavarotti and stylist Katie Grand for the occasion. As a result, models Anok Yai, Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, Amelia Gray, Alek Wek, Maty Fall, and DJ Carlita pose across a total of six black and white Vogue Italia cover offerings this month.

After all, since shooting his very first cover for the Italian fashion bible for the July/August issue of 1988 (under the late great Franca Sozzani), a whole plethora of covers are now deemed iconic. Now under the control of Francesca Ragazzi, Meisel was welcomed back to capture the magazine’s 60th anniversary covers for September and is back once again for November 2024. The legendary American lensman points his lens toward Lana Del Rey, who makes her debut Vogue Italia appearance for the occasion, complete with styling from Karl Templer and a look from Miu Miu. The newlywed American singer-songwriter is all smiles in the joyous cover image, looking the picture of happiness as she gazes down Meisel’s masterful lens.
