Event dressing has always topped Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach’s priority list, which they again ascertained at the Golden Globes 2025 in stunning Louis Vuitton dresses. While admirers recovered from the burnt-orange ball gown she nailed on the red carpet, the style icon quietly slipped into a side-baring second dress. Elle Magazine pointed out how the outfit switch went unnoticed until she posed with “The Bear” star Ayo Edebiri for photographs at the awards ceremony. Later, her longtime and trusted stylist shared glimpses of the look in an Instagram video.

Zendaya opts for a slinky halter dress for her second look of the night

Zendaya stunned in not one but two remarkable Louis Vuitton dresses at the 2025 Golden Globes, which was more than just another awards ceremony for her. While her nomination in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category for “Challengers” didn’t come to fruition, these outfits and the massive stone on her finger did the job. First, she nailed her red carpet look in a custom strapless ball gown that she paired with Bulgari jewelry.

Later, Zendaya opted for a slinky, halterneck dress for her second look for the night that almost went unnoticed. The cream-colored halter outfit comprised a plunging neckline with gold beaded embellishments and a barely-there design on the back. In addition, it consisted of a risqué slit with the thinnest strap connecting the back to the neckline. She topped off the look with nude stilettos and the same wavy bob she debuted on the red carpet earlier with the orange gown. However, the actor ditched the heavy jewelry with only one diamond ring on her finger.

Zendaya attending the Golden Globes 2025 marked her return to the award ceremony after several years. Her previous appearance was in 2016. In fact, stylist Law Roach deemed the occasion fit for two iconic dresses and dropped a clip of both looks in separate Instagram videos. The first clip exhibited the gorgeous gown while the next one showed the star cheekily posing on a bed to show off the second dress. Roach also credited the luxury fashion house’s artistic director of women’s collections, Nicolas Ghesquière.

On January 5, Zendaya stunned in the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet photos in a gorgeous Louis Vuitton silk gown. She looked exquisite in the luxurious piece, which featured a dramatic train at the back. The gown was custom-made for the star, taking inspiration from a classic ballgown for its silhouette. While the ensemble was breathtaking, she further elevated the look by adding major bling to the overall look, including a very eye-catching ring.

Zendaya’s Louis Vuitton gown stole the show at 2025 Golden Globe Awards

Zendaya looked regal in Sunday’s Golden Globes 2025 red carpet photos as she wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown. The piece was designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, who has been a women’s creative director of the French luxury fashion house since 2013. The star looked like a true diva at the Los Angeles event, wowing the crowd in the tangerine gown.

The silky piece featured a dramatic train, with the excess fabric beautifully pleated at the back to add intrigue to the ballgown-like silhouette. The actor amped up the drama with matching heels, which used a similar silky fabric to the gown. The overall look was styled by Law Roach, who has worked with Zendaya for quite some time. He has been the mastermind behind most of her show-stopping red carpet appearances, including her statement-worthy looks at the Met Gala over the years.

The star added some bling to her look with jewelry pieces from BVLGARI. She opted for a chunky necklace from the Italian jewelry brand, featuring an emerald in the middle. She also rocked a few rings that caught everyone’s attention. According to Roach’s Instagram post, the inspiration behind the Louis Vuitton look came from the 50s singer, Joyce Bryant.

The red carpet appearance comes soon after the launch of the fun Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection with Zendaya. The re-edition of the iconic collaboration comes about two decades after it was first launched. For the collection, the actor starred in a youthful photoshoot as she was surrounded by Takashi Murakami’s animated designs.

You’re no doubt fully aware that (just like any other major fashion brand), Louis Vuitton likes to take full advantage of their brand ambassadors. Subsequent to signing on the dotted line with the storied French fashion house in 2023, Zendaya has since fronted advertising campaigns for the Capucines handbags and worked looks designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière like there’s no tomorrow. As a result, it comes as no surprise to see Zendaya become the face and embodiment of the Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection for 2025. The multi-faceted American actress teams up with Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin for the occasion, captured with their photographic studio and super-imposed onto various cityscape backdrops. The kitschy campaign imagery is complete with styling from Law Roach.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I&V have gone so downhill and pedestrian with their photography. Everything they shoot screams cheap,” immediately criticized Gabriel29.

“It’s flat and bland in the worst possible way,” Norden chimed in.

“Really not loving the America’s Next Top Model style of posing and photography,” voiced GivenchyHomme.

Yet not everyone was left so disappointed. “Love it! I love how unapologetically in your face the Murakami illustrations are and I love how it harkens back to I&V’s earlier 90s work with the superimposed backgrounds,” admired forum member mikel.

“I love it! So tacky, so purposefully cheap, so pop,” GivenchyAddict enthused.

Fashionsavvvvvy commented: “It’s very youthful and in the Y2K trend. I think it represents the mood of the collaboration well.”

As creative director of Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière has trusted just a very select few to capture his vision for the famed French fashion house. Names like David Sims, Steven Meisel, Ethan James Green, and Bruce Weber have been called upon since Ghesquière took over Vuitton in 2014. For the Cruise 2024 campaign offering last year, Ghesquière entrusted Jamie Hawkesworth. Fast forward twelve months and it’s a repeat performance with the unveiling of the Cruise 2025 campaign installment. In May, the French-Belgian designer staged the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2025 presentation within the majestic Park Güell in Barcelona. In a nod to the show, models Mona Tougaard, Larissa Moraes and Cara Schadel take the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region for the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2025 campaign. The Ghesquière-approved beauties pose underneath clear blue skies and amongst some of the city’s finest architecture throughout the stunning sun-lit campaign imagery.

“Very beautiful and great composition. Maybe Jamie Hawkesworth should shoot all the campaigns instead of David Sims,” shared Lola701 upon checking out the campaign.

GivenchyAddict shared the same level of enthusiasm. “One of my fav LV campaigns. Just gorgeous! Un sans faute,” they commented.

“Love it! Mona Tougaard is believable in the location even if the clothes aren’t the most stunning,” chimed in forum member Deleted Member 1957.

“Always happy to see Mona in any campaign,” couturefan praised.

“Mona Tougaard was all that was needed here. She’s stealing the show entirely from the other two girls. Such gorgeous campaign imagery from Jamie Hawkesworth. The coloring, lighting, and sense of warmth is beautiful. The setting also…” voiced vogue28.

Naturally, of course, Giovanna dons jewelry from Swarovski for the occasion, with Carl Milles’ Playing Angels sculptures looming in the background.

Vogue Scandinavia just goes down and down, lower and lower. Probably this is their worst cover ever,” immediately said BalkaniStaCouture.

“What the hell is that font?” asked EDEN21.

“I thought the Scandinavians were the masters of quiet taste? Is this an AI-generated cover?” quizzed forum member Deleted Member 1957.

“They need to fire that digital retoucher,” stated a disapproving Xone.

Also far from impressed was blueorchid. “What goes through these people’s minds when they approve this slop? ‘Ahhh yes, genius… our customers will LOVE this! It will FLY off of the shelves!'” they laughed.

“This just looks like one of those travel agent advertisements,” noted 0st3nd.

You’re no doubt very well aware of the fact that Louis Vuitton (just like any other fashion brand on the planet) likes to make use of their ambassadors. From Sophie Turner to Léa Seydoux, the faces of Vuitton are always out representing the LVMH-owned luxury French fashion house (founded in 1854). Make no mistake Ana de Armas is one of those Louis Vuitton brand ambassadors often called upon for the brand’s advertising campaigns. After signing on the dotted line in 2023, the Cuban-Spanish actress has fronted a handful of Louis Vuitton High Jewelry advertising campaigns. It’s a repeat performance with the unveiling of the La Damier de Louis Vuitton collection from Francesca Amfitheatrof. Out is photographer Solve Sundsbo on this occasion, in favor of Ethan James Green who captures Ana for a series of undeniably flawless campaign photos.

“Happy for Ana de Armas that she’s getting that bag, but these jewelry campaigns all look the same,” critiqued Hchloe the moment the campaign struck.

“So generic. I am sure I’ve seen better photos from fashion jewelry brands,” tourbillions chimed in.

“You’d think Ana would work well in any sort of generic campaign,” added tigerrouge.

“Beyond dull,” disapproved forum member zoom.

Yet not everyone was left so dismayed over the end result. “This type of portrait photography will always please me to no end. There’s not one element to this that I dislike. Ana de Armas looks absolutely drop-dead gorgeous here. What an absolute beauty! I can appreciate the switch-up to Ethan James Green on this occasion. It’s all just so effortless,” admired vogue28.

“Ana de Armas looks pretty in the photographs. I especially like the shot of her where she is showing off her shoulders. Overall, I agree that the ads are missing creativity,” noted MModa.

Zendaya’s slinky low-back Louis Vuitton gown for the 2024 Gotham Awards is a nod to her outstanding Tennis performance in the “Challengers” movie. Additionally, the actor accepted the 2024 Spotlight Tribute Award for nailing the role of player Tashi Duncan in the film. She previously rocked several similar looks during the movie’s press tour and is once again bringing some iconic looks to the red carpet with awards season official afoot. The 2024 Gotham Awards red carpet photos show the 28-year-old flaunting her bare back in a white floor-length dress, looking elegant as always.

Zendaya’s stylist reveals the 2024 Gotham Awards gown was inspired by her ‘Challengers’ character

It’s no secret that Zendaya‘s brilliant role in Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” movie has remained in the 2024 spotlight, finally landing her a Gotham Award. On Monday, she wore an off-white low-back custom Louis Vuitton dress to the red carpet event. There, the star accepted the Spotlight Tribute award for capturing the true essence of her role in the tennis movie in which she starred alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Fast. On the other hand, her outfit was a body-hugging floor-length gown that completely bared her back. The outfit also had a halter neck design that she paired with a sleek ponytail and statement jewelry.

Later, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, told Vogue how they masterminded the ensemble using the Nicolas Ghesquière-designed backless double satin dress. Roach claimed, “We love collaborating with Nicolas,” explaining that Ghesquière’s designing approach has a hint of “intelligence” that they appreciate. And so, Roach expressed his wish to create something sleek and elegant for Zendaya. He then opined that the dress was “really pretty—simple, sexy, and very modern.” Additionally, she added Bvlgari jewelry to round off the attire.

Finally, Roach admitted that Zendaya’s dress for the 2024 Gotham Awards was a more subtle nod to the “Challengers” movie. “It feels in the same vein as this character we created for Tashi Duncan, but it’s not as character-driven as the press tour,” he said. The stylist also commented on how the dress mainly captures the actor’s present stance in life and only “a little carry-over” for Tashi.
